Consumers expect a traction battery to work reliably in challenging automotive environmental conditions – like any other electrical unit does. For electric and electronic equipment in road vehicles, ISO 16750 standardizes the environmental conditions and tests. Car manufacturers refine this basic requirement to generate their own specifications.
Our automotive testing services are experienced and familiar with these tests. We can test the performance of cells, modules and packs up to 500kg under the following environmental stresses:
- Mechanical Shock (up to 50g)
- Salt Fog
- Dust, solid and liquid intrusion (IP-Protection)
- Mixed Flowing Gas
- Chemical exposure
- Water jet, salt water immersion
- Thermal Shock Cycling
Characterization and performance testing is done both during and after the environmental simulation.
