BRC Global Standard Consumer Products (For Medical Devices)
If you want retailers such as Wal-Mart, Metro and Tesco to sell your medical devices under their own brands, you may need certification to the British Retail Consortium (BRC) Global Standards – Consumer Products.
Certification against the BRC Consumer Products standard for medical devices enables your customer to demonstrate due diligence in respect of consumer protection. You will need to achieve this in addition to the required regulatory certification.
Depending on the requirements of your markets, you face multiple certification demands – including your customers’ requests for BRC Consumer Products certification.
The right medical device certification at the right time is your key to winning new contracts, launching new products and entering new markets. At SGS we have a strong reputation for technically correct advice and certification. We were the first body to be United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) accredited for BRC Consumer Products certification and we are approved by all major retailers for all products covered by the standard, including medical devices.
BRC Consumer Product certification can be stand alone, or combined with ISO 13485 or regulatory certification such as CE marking.
