Sample warehousing facilities

SGS operates strategically-located chemical sample distribution centers and smaller sample service satellites worldwide through the global SGS network. These centers are licensed for the storage of both dangerous and non-dangerous chemical substances, including flammable, toxic or corrosive products and are equipped with state-of-the-art reconditioning, packaging and labeling facilities.

Our services include a customized smart-inventory management system, ensuring that the inventory is always maximized, meaning the sample stock never runs out and that the sample waste (to be disposed of) is minimized at the expiry date. Products can also be stored under specific conditions, such as under nitrogen, in a temperature-controlled environment, cool or heated.

Sample ‘pick and pack’ services

SGS also offers ‘pick and pack’ services. Samples are collected on site at the customer’s premises and transported to the closest SGS location where samples are properly packed, documented and distributed.

Order execution

Our employees are trained regularly to keep pace with fast-changing transport legislation. They will ensure that all shipments are packed, labeled and documented in accordance with the applicable transport regulations. We take care that your sample orders are executed smoothly, with fast turnaround times. The vast majority of samples are shipped within one working day. During the whole shipment process the ‘track and trace’ data and the delivery details are available to our customers by means of an innovative web tool.
