SGS is pleased to announce that Brad Stawick joined the company as U.S. Director of Microbiology and Quality, effective Sept 18. The addition of Brad to our team will help ensure the implementation of robust, consistent Quality and Operational Systems across all US Agriculture and Food laboratories in order to achieve, maintain and exceed client expectations, regulations and industry standards.

In this new role, Brad will be responsible for Quality Assurance and Control, as well as technical oversight of all Microbiology Laboratories within US Agriculture and Food. Brad brings with him more than 20 years of corporate laboratory experience. He spent the past six years at Microbac Laboratories serving first as Corporate Director of Microbiology and most recently as Vice-President of Quality. Prior to that he held positions with Eurofins and Silliker, where he was an independent Laboratory Auditor, specializing in ISO standards.

Brad holds a Bachelors Degree in Biology from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where he also earned his Masters of Science in Food Science. In addition to being a Certified Food Scientist, Brad has co-authored multiple microbiological publications and is extensively active within the technical communities:

  • Chair of the Technical Division of Laboratory Management
  • Member of Official Methods Board of AOAC
  • Chair of the Life Science Advisory Committee within A2LA
  • Committee member ALACC
  • Contributing member of IFT and IAFP
