Ensure your product labels comply with requirements for imports into Mexico.

Effective October 1, 2020 most commercial products imported into Mexico must comply with labeling requirements of the Dirección General de Normas (DGN) of the Ministry of Economy. SGS has been accredited as a Commercial Inspection (Verification) Unit (UVA) (UVNOM 037) under Standard NMX 17020 for 11 Label Standards and from any supplying country. We can review and certify your labels and issue a Certificate of Conformity (Constancia) demonstrating compliance with DGN regulations.

How can SGS help?

Prior to exporting your goods to Mexico, SGS will check that your labels comply with the appropriate NOM Standard and then issue a Certificate of Conformity. This certificate demonstrates to Mexican authorities that your labels are in compliance and facilitates the clearance of your goods through Mexican customs. It will also help your importer avoid additional storage or labeling expenses after the products have been imported.
