Ensure your vehicle is meeting emissions requirements.

SGS is the world’s leading testing, inspection, verification and certification company. Your car’s manufacturer trusts us to provide its third party in-use verification testing. Through this program, we test vehicles to ensure manufacturers are meeting or exceeding emissions requirements.

What can I expect?

  • When you drop off your vehicle, we will go over the process with you and can even show you where your vehicle will be tested
  • You can pick up your newer model rental car at the same time and location as your drop-off
  • Your rental will have a full tank of fuel
  • We will need your car for approximately two weeks to complete all necessary testing
  • You will receive your incentive check when you pick up your vehicle after the testing has been completed – no waiting for a check in the mail
  • The exterior and interior of your car will be cleaned before pickup, and you will have a full tank of fuel

Where do I drop my car off?

Our emissions testing facility is conveniently located off either I-225 or I-70 in Aurora, CO.

You can drop your car off at:

  • Aurora, CO: 2022 Helena St, just minutes from the intersection of Colfax Ave and Chambers Rd
  • Columbus, IN: 635 S Mapleton St

What type of testing will be done on my car?

  • In-use testing is performed in our labs on our advanced chassis dynamometers
  • Your vehicle will be run on an indoor roll to simulate real world driving conditions without exposing your car to the elements or dangers of real world driving
  • We will be testing for the emissions your car gives off in these real world driving conditions and will be providing the vehicle manufacturer with data and reports outlining the current performance characteristics of your car
  • This data not only helps your car manufacturer meet EPA emissions requirements, but also helps inform the development of future models of your car
