About

Dioxin 2019, the 39th International Symposium on Halogenated Persistent Organic Pollutants, meets annually, allowing researchers in a wide range of specialties to gather and present the latest research findings on dioxins, dioxin-like compounds and persistent organic pollutants (POPs).

Starts

Aug 25, 2019

Ends

Aug 30, 2019

Georgina Brooks, Senior Project Manager, SGS AXYS, will present Tuesday, August 27 at the Dioxin 2019 conference on Application of APGC-MS/MS to EPA 1600 Series Methods for Analysis of PCDD/PCDF, PCBs and Other Halogenated Compounds.

The presentation is from 12:10 pm to 1 pm, Room 2-B, Kyoto International Conference Centre, Kyoto, Japan. It is part of the Waters Dolce Seminar at the 39th International Symposium on Halogenated Persistent Organic Pollutants (Dioxin 2019) August 25-30.

Brooks has 25 years of experience managing complex, multi-agency projects on remediation of dioxin-contaminated sites and biomonitoring to understand dioxin exposure. The presentation describes proposed changes to Method 1613B to incorporate MS/MS approaches, and to replace the method QC protocols that are specific to 1613B high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) with analogous ones (achieving the same purpose), appropriate for an MS/MS system.
