SGS Offers New Software for Soil Sampling
With so much information collected on the farm and being used in management decisions, timing is everything. SGS is making it easier for customers to view results and order tests by partnering with SST Software, a privately held agricultural software development and information services provider. Utilizing SST’s Summit Professional program, SGS will have the capability to administer soil test results back to our clients in the quickest way possible.
Through Summit, growers can order field tests or jobs to be sampled by SGS with the click of a button. The order is instantly updated in Summit, allowing for SGS to dispatch a sampler to the field. Summit permits direct communication between SGS and the client.
After the sampler receives the request and completes the order, the information is then uploaded. This allows the client to know exactly the status of their order.
Soil sample results can also be sent directly to Summit as soon as the results are completed at the lab. This can be done for samples pulled by SGS samplers and by the client. A sample barcode report can be generated in Summit and submitted with the samples. Within five minutes of printing the lab data, the results will sync directly into Summit.
These improvements will increase the efficiency for both SGS and our clients. Instead of spending time importing soil test results, our agronomists can be consulting with growers and making recommendations.
