Do You Have Questions About MIR162?
Event MIR162, also known as Agrisure™ Viptera, is an insect resistance trait developed by Syngenta. The event is approved for use in the United States and a number of other countries. It has not been approved for use in China and the Chinese government has recently cracked down on imports of corn and corn based products such as distillers dried grains (DDG) and distiller dried grains with solubles (DDGS).
SGS offers three different testing options for MIR162:
- Quantitative PCR offers you the peace of mind of a low detection limit (0.01%) and a numeric result if MIR162 is detected above the quantification level (0.1%). This is the method most likely in use by China Inspection and Quarantine.
- Qualitative PCR offers a positive or negative result based on the detection limit of 0.01%
- ELISA-based testing is available for screening of whole grain with a 0.25% detection limit.
Standard PCR turnaround time is 4-5 days. Please email us or call 1-866-692-7611, ext. 5, if you have additional questions or for current pricing and rush testing availability.
