The SGS Beaumont / Port Arthur Petroleum Laboratory in Texas has been Awarded an expanded ISO/IEC 17025 Accreditation for over 40 tests by 100 test methods, by the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board.

The SGS petroleum and chemical testing laboratory in the Beaumont / Port Arthur, Texas region has been awarded a Scope of Accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025:2005 for over 40 tests by 100 different laboratory test methods. The accreditation has been awarded by ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB).

Stephen Hughes, the national commercial laboratory manager for the SGS oil, gas, and chemical business, said "SGS is proud to be awarded this important accreditation of laboratory quality for our Beaumont laboratory. Congratulations is given to our dedicated quality, laboratory, and management team for making this achievement and recognition possible."

The Beaumont/Port Arthur laboratory provides a full range of laboratory testing,  cargo inspection, and cargo treat services to regional petroleum refining, crude oil, petrochemical, and natural gas customers.

The ISO/IEC 17025 Accreditation is for the following SGS laboratory:

Accreditation is valid to: September 30, 2020, Certificate Number: AT-2085

Test methods covered under the ISO/IEC 17025 Accreditation include petroleum industry standards such as ASTM, ISO, and IP test methods. The new accreditation is an expansion and renewal of a previously awarded accreditation from 2016.
