UPDATE: Hurricane Florence Statement
We continue to closely monitor the path of Hurricane Florence. The safety of our team members is always our top priority at SGS. Our locations in the predicted path of the storm have implemented storm preparation protocols. We are in close contact with these locations and are in the process of shifting operations to other nearby locations (not in the path of the storm) to ensure minimum disruption to our business. In addition, plans are in place to evacuate and close our offices/labs as advised or required by local authorities and conditions. We encourage everyone to closely monitor the news for the most current information and to follow the instructions of local authorities. We will provide updates as events unfold.
<< UPDATE >> (September 18, 2018)
We are pleased to announce that all of our team members in the path of Florence have been accounted for and we are working with local leadership to survey their condition and to provide aid where needed.
All of our assets and locations in the area have resumed normal operations, with the exception of our Wilmington, NC lab which is currently being powered by generators. The routes connecting the city inland are blocked by floodwaters and debris, preventing our team members from getting around as they deal with the aftermath of the storm.
There has been no impact to our customers.
We will continue to closely monitor the situation and will provide further updates as they become available.
