SGS North America in Brookings, SD, is pleased to announce that it is the first laboratory in the United States to be certified to the new GMP+ International Registered Laboratories program, with the ability to conduct critical contaminant testing of mycotoxins, heavy metals and pesticides for feed manufacturers certified under the GMP+ Feed Safety Assurance (FSA) scheme.
“Our SGS Brookings location is proud to be the first laboratory in the United States to achieve certification with the GMP+ Registered Laboratories Program,” said SGS Brookings Business Manager Nichole Berkenhoff. “We work diligently to assure that our testing methods and equipment provide best-in-class service for product safety, and this certification is another standard of excellence that we can offer to GMP+ certified companies in the feed sector.”
GMP+ International requires that GMP+ FSA certified companies have contaminant analysis conducted by GMP+ registered laboratories beginning July 1, 2019, to more accurately verify results for contaminant testing. GMP+ International serves as a regulatory, industrial organization for businesses in the animal feed production chain and provides certification that ensures compliance with the requirements of the Animal Feed Hygiene Regulation of the European Union, thus enabling certified companies to export their products to the EU.
