Carteret NJ receives initial ISO 17025 accreditation

The team at SGS Carteret New Jersey office and laboratory primarily serve the New York Harbor area. Our experienced personnel provide analysis and inspection services for our customers including crude oil, petroleum refined products (including diesel and gasoline), ethanol and other petrochemicals and hydrocarbon products.

In a moment of pride for the organization, the SGS Carteret NJ laboratory has been awarded initial ISO 17025 accreditation for nine critical ASTM testing methods: D4294, for sulfur content over a wide range of petroleum products, and eight EPA-approved gasoline test methods, including D2622—also for testing sulfur content.

Test methods include ASTM, ISO, IP, and other industry standards.

The ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB) awarded this important accreditation to SGS Carteret. The ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board is the largest multi-disciplinary accreditation body in North America and plays an important role in ensuring the safety and quality of goods and services and in protecting the environment.

“We were delighted to learn that the Carteret Lab has been unconditionally recommended by our assessor for the ISO 17025 accreditation for eight RFG methods plus D4294. Our assessor was highly impressed with our operation,” said Bill Huhn, SGS Oil, Gas & Chemicals Services Division, Regional Laboratory Manager - East Coast.

In receiving this accreditation, our laboratory and by consequence its staff, have demonstrated that they are meeting the requirements of international standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017, while demonstrating technical competence in the field of testing. In other words, we can say with confidence that this is a technically proficient lab which is able to produce precise and accurate test and calibration data.
